From the start I was expected to lose. Everything I have right now is mostly because I defied what the world concluded about me before I could even speak a word in my defense. And my defense is that I am just as capable as any person to do great things. Like you, I think about all the things this world could achieve if only every child was given the right tools. Mentoring is the right tool and it is the way to the American Dream. To everyone here tonight, I hope you will promise to do everything you can to help make mentoring and the American Dream a reality for every child in this city and every other city in the country. It?s their best defense, too.

MENTOR exists for kids such as Ean Garrett. Like Ean, we believe that mentoring is a powerful tool for helping kids succeed in life. Our mission is to connect kids with the power of mentoring.

The above statements are taken from the site www.mentoring.org which we used as our guide for creating an online mentoring forum dedicated to trainee adjusters whether it be staff or Independent adjuster trainees. We implemented this program in December 2005 so we are now in our third year of service! We are very proud of the growth of our program now reaching a milestone in July 2007 registering our 700th registrant! Our site could have grown more quickly with open registration but we prefer the monitored growth to maintain our goals of professional development with members who are adjusters, trainees,independent firm staff,and carrier staff. Our accomplishments already include 102 graduates of our Live 40 hour online Fundamentals of Claims Class, many folks adopted by Independent firms for field mentoring opportunities, our live chat sessions and multiple Live online group rooms for Live training environments, many job opportunities continuously posted for positions from the trainee level through management opportunities both with carriers and with Independent firms. Networking abounds among our members as we have spent time together in our claims mentor community sharing in success stories of their course completions,carrier certifications,and most importantly their success locating positions in the claims field.Our site has grown far beyond a trainee site as we develop with adjusting firm managers and experienced adjusters participating. We now have three different courses of study offered on our site in our ClaimSmentor Roots and Wings training programs to include research through our forums,self study training guides on many important claim handling topics, and our online LIVE classes.
